This describes what MyDrank actually stores, what it deliberately does not, and who can see any of it. It is written from the database itself rather than from a template, so if something is not listed here, we are not keeping it.

The Short Version

  • We never store your location. The distance check runs on your own device, only when you ask for it, and the answer never leaves it.
  • We never see your card. MyDrank does not take payment for drinks. You pay the shop the way you always have.
  • A shop sees an order only when you send it, and only that order. Not your history, not your other saved orders, not anything from another shop.
  • We do not sell anything to anyone, and we run no advertising.

What We Store About You

WhatWhyHow long
Your email addressIt is how you sign in, and the only way we can reach you about your account.Until you ask us to delete the account
Your password, as a bcrypt hashSo we can check it without being able to read it. Nobody at MyDrank can see your password.Until you ask us to delete the account
Your display nameIt is what a barista sees when an order lands, so they know whose it is.Until you ask us to delete the account
Your saved ordersThe drink, and every choice on it. This is the product.Until you delete the order or the account
Orders you have sentA frozen copy of what the counter saw, so your history is accurate even if the shop later changes its menu.Until you ask us to delete the account

What We Do Not Store

WhatWhy not
Your locationThere is no column for it. When you tap to check whether you are close, your browser or phone works out the distance and tells you. The coordinates are never sent to us.
Your card or bank detailsMyDrank never handles a drink payment, so there is nothing for us to hold. Shops who subscribe pay through Stripe, and Stripe holds those details, not us.
Anything about what you order elsewhereSaved orders are held against one shop each. There is no cross shop profile, because building one would need a reason and we do not have one.
Advertising or analytics identifiersThere are no third party trackers on this site.

Cookies and Local Storage

We use the smallest set that makes the product work, and none of it is for tracking.

NameWhat it doesLasts
Session cookieKeeps you signed in. Set when you sign in, cleared when you sign out.30 days
Picture check cookieHolds the signed answer to the picture puzzle on public forms, so a script cannot read it out of the page.5 minutes
Selected locationFor shop staff only. Remembers which of your own windows you were working on.1 year
Theme preferenceKept in your browser's local storage, never sent to us. Remembers light or dark.Until you clear it

When You Send an Order

The shop receives your display name, the order in full, any note you attached, and the total MyDrank worked out. That is all. They cannot see your email, your other saved orders, your history, or anything about other shops.

What they receive is frozen at the moment you send it. If the shop edits its menu a minute later, the ticket in front of the barista does not change under their hands, and neither does your record of it.

If You Write to Support

The in app help button attaches the page you were on and some plain details about your browser: window size, timezone, language, light or dark mode, and the browser version string. It shows you all of it before you send, and you can read it by pressing "See what gets sent with this".

We keep the message so we can answer it. We do not use it for anything else.

Who Else Touches Your Data

As few as we can manage. Every one of these is a company doing a specific job, not a partner we share data with.

WhoWhat forWhat they get
VercelRuns the website and the servers behind it.Whatever is needed to serve a page, plus normal server logs
NeonRuns the database, provisioned through Vercel.Everything in the tables above, encrypted at rest
StripeTakes subscription payments from coffee stands only.A shop owner's billing details. Nothing about customers, and no drink orders
ResendDelivers support replies by email.Your email address and the message, when you write to us
Your shop's till providerOnly if your shop has connected one, and only to read their own menu.Nothing about you. The connection is read only and reads the shop's catalog

The Public Order Link

When you show a stand your order, MyDrank makes a link that shows that one order and your first name. The stand opens it by scanning your code, which is what lets it work at a shop that has never heard of MyDrank.

That link is public in the sense that it needs no password, so treat it the way you would treat any link. It is a long random address that cannot be guessed, it shows one order and nothing else, and you can replace it at any time from your wallet, which immediately stops the old one working.

Deleting Your Account

Write to us from the address on the account and we will remove it, along with your saved orders and your history. We do not make you hunt for a setting, and we do not ask you why.

One thing we cannot remove is a shop's own record of a sale they made, in their own till, on the day you bought a coffee. That is their business record and it was never ours.

Children

MyDrank is not built for children and we do not knowingly keep accounts for anyone under 13. If you believe we have one, write to us and we will remove it.

Changes to This Page

If we start storing something new, this page changes at the same time, and we will say what changed rather than quietly moving the date at the top.
